Community Fun Day
Considering the poor weather recently, we were delighted that the sun was shining for our fun day on Saturday 6th September 2025. The event kicked off at 12:30 pm and by the time it finished just over 900 people had come along and enjoyed the day. There was plenty of activities to keep the children entertained including: climbing wall, football darts, arts and crafts and face painting. Whilst the kids were busy enjoying themselves, the adults had a chance to sit down with a cuppa and have a chat, they also had the chance to enjoy a head and shoulder massage. We went green this year and didn’t provide plastic bottles of water but instead encouraged people to bring along water bottles and fill them up at the water stations provided. As well as enjoying all the fun activities, the kids got candy floss and a bag of sweets.
The event was entirely free to all who attended, which is only possible with the assistance of funding towards the costs. We would like to take this opportunity to again thank our funders for this year, the Greater Pollok Barratt Community Development Trust and the Greater Pollok Area Partnership, without such funding the event could not take place. We would also like to thank Dr Zubir Ahmed (MP for Glasgow South West), Anas Sarwar (MSP, Glasgow) and our local councillors, Cllr William Graham, Cllr Saqib Ahmed and Bailie Rashid Hussain for taking time out of their busy schedules to come along and support our fun day.
