Free ESOL Classes

ESOL-  Govan Community Project will be piloting an intermediate ESOL class. It will take place on Fridays 10am-12noon at the Pollok Health Centre (see link below). The aim of the class is to support learners in improving their English based on their learning needs and to improve their access to existing services in Greater Pollok.  They will also support individuals at beginners and advanced levels to join existing classes and other learning opportunities in Greater Pollok so all are welcome to attend.

Advocacy/drop-in. - Govan Community Project have identified a need for a place of contact where minority ethnic individuals, refugees and asylum seekers can access support and information. Many organisations mentioned that having a ME/Refugee focused service would mean that they could signpost people more locally. We will start a weekly outreach drop in and advocacy session from February, location and times will be confirmed soon.

Potential strand- Social activities- Govan Community Project will be looking into options for piloting some social and/or family friendly activities. This could take shape of a weekly group with taster sessions (arts and crafts, cooking, music), and/ or  linking minority ethnic individuals to existing activities, making it as easy as possible for them to access such activities or join existing groups.

Throughout all strands they aim to link people with existing activities and services in Greater Pollok and support them to engage with the wider community.
